Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences has been recognized among the world’s leading medical universities in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings by Subject 2026. The university earned a position in the 400–500 global ranking band in the Medicine and Health subject area and achieved a third-place ranking at the national level.
The Times Higher Education Ranking System is widely regarded as one of the most credible and internationally recognized university ranking frameworks. Each year, THE evaluates universities across a broad range of teaching, research, and international engagement indicators, allowing for comprehensive global comparison across 11 major subject areas and 148 specialized disciplines.
According to the Director of the Accreditation and Ranking Department at the Department of International Affairs, the World University Rankings by Subject methodology is based on the overall THE global ranking framework, with specific refinements to reflect the unique characteristics of each academic discipline.
